In her consultation room she views every individual as unique and does treat them with a “one size fits all” approach. She believes that even though clients may have similar problems, but their experiences and views are different from others.
At the Teddy Bear Clinic for the Abused Children, she has gained many years of experience with cases of rape/sexual abuse and preparing children to testify in a criminal court. She also worked in a township for 10 years, dealing with all aspects of mental health and the African cultures have enriched her experience as a psychologist.
The Psychologist deals with problems, such as marriage, relationships, work and redundancy, anxiety & depression, trauma, bereavement, divorce.
Her therapeutic style can be described as fairly simple – she aims to be present and interactive with her clients. Throughout each session, she discovers how they view themselves and identify difficulties that they want to resolve. She is a therapist who deals eclectically (different approaches) but her dominant therapeutic style is CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy).
